■ Workspaces : Workspace is a set of
(1) Menu
(2) Toolbars
(3) Dockable windows in Drawing Area
(4) Command prompt : The line/s at the bottom of screen where one can see the 'command' is called the "Command Prompt".
When one type a command, one will see that command at Command Prompt / Command Line. CAD software uses this space to 'prompt' user for information. It will give one a lot of info and tell user where user is in the command. User requires to watch Command Line while learning CAD software.
■ 2D Drafting Workspace
(1) Quick access toolbar : Displays common buttons like New, Open, and Save.
New : Create new file.
Open : Open an existing drawing file.
Save : Saving the file.

(3) WCS icon : WCS icon is the icon in the lower left corner of the CAD software's graphics area.
WCS stands for World Coordinate System icon that shows X and Y directions. X increases in the right direction and Y is increasing in the top.

User communicates with CAD software on computer machine at command prompt or dynamic input display.
CAD software may prompt the user at user interface, that is, command window or through dynamic input display.
(5) Status bar
Status bar accommodates following buttons, namely, 'SNAP, GRID, ORTHO etc......'.
5.1 SNAP : the movement (or jumping) of cursor measured with distance
5.2 GRID : dots in workspace at some distance apart

5.5 OSNAP : OBJECT SNAPPING / OSNAP is a technique, which helps you to select an exact point on the object.

5.6 OTRACK : OBJECT TRACKING, POLAR TRACKING
5.7 DUCS : Dynamic UCS or User Coordinate System
5.8 DYN: Dynamic Input
One can put the Dynamic input OFF by clicking on DYN button on the status bar.
When the dynamic input is ON, (1) the angle of rotation (2) the distance, (3) instructions, and (4) command are shown near cursor.
5.9 LWT: Line Weight
5.10 COORDINATE WINDOW : Coordinates of a point
